If you are tilting your head forward when you perform the rinse and the solution does not come out the other nasal passage, you may have a blocked nasal passage. We recommend you do not rinse if either nasal passage is blocked in order to avoid putting pressure on your eardrums. However, you can rinse with a partially blocked nasal passage. You can use an over the counter nasal decongestant to ease the congestion before performing the rinse.
