I recently used the Neti Pot on one nostril & it leaked out the other nostril as advertised. When I used it on the other nostril it instead leaked down my throat. I used it as instructed. So what does that mean that one nostril leaked properly & the other leaked down to my throat?

Most likely the tilting position of the head was different. Please try this few times and see what happens. Please call me if the same observation continues.
