From all the experiences we have gathered, this pain will go away. You son may have had his head in the wrong position during rinsing. If it is tilted too far forward the solution may go in the ears. This is not harmful. If he blew his nose too forcefully while pinching it closed, that could put pressure on his eardrums. We advise that you wait until symptoms subside or consult your physician before starting the rinses again. Due to different levels of pain threshold, please use your judgment to decide when to start rinsing.
