I work in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Many of our premature infants are on nasal CPAP or nasal cannulas which cause dry nasal passages. THis leads to bleeding and large plugs in the nasal passages. Is Nasogel safe for infants? I am wondering if I can recommend it to our Neonatologists?

While we recommend consulting with a doctor before using NasoGel on babies under 6 months, I believe it is safe for younger infants. You should use the NasoGel Tube and apply it gently with a Q-Tip. You can provide the doctors with a list of ingredients, which you can find on the package. They include sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate 1 percent, aloe vera, allantoin, carboxymethylcellulose, propylene glycol, purified water, methylparaben, propylparaben.
