I use the NeilMed Sinus rinse nightly and never lie down within an hour of using it. For the last 9-10 months - I have noticed that I have a different (not hot or burning) taste in my mouth throughout the night- even not long after using mouthwash. Could that be a salty taste from the saline?

It has nothing to do with salt. You can stop rinse and see what happens. Mint in the mouthwash relaxes esophageal sphincter. This can predispose to acid reflux. Please try stopping one at a time for few days and see what happens. If no easy fix, please see your doctor for more work up.
