I understand that you suggest not using tap water. What are the possible ramifications? I have been using the Neilmed sinus rinse for several years regularly using warm tap water. I have not had any problems - but recently - I have had symptoms of a sinus infection and prior to that - I have had a string of sicknesses involving sore throats and coughs resembling bronchitis. Is it possible that this is connected to using tap water? I can see the sinus infection - but what about the bronchitis?
According to current available knowledge in our company and some scattered literature here and there,it is an extremely rare event to have a problem with the tap water. I seriously doubt that any of your symptoms are related to the tap water. Sore throat, cold and subsequent bronchitis is a very common situation. It comes under the heading United or Unifiedairway disease phenomenon, where upper respiratory tract infection will affect the lower respiratory tract leading to bronchitis and very rarely pneumonia. Tap water is variable in the USA. In view of this simply boiling and cooling down will lead to a water that is purified from allthe germs perspective and should be safe in that respect.
