I have never had a problem with flushing before - but this time the fluids did not drain. I sqeezed half the bottle into my right nostril - and no drainage yet; however my right eye began to swell as if the retention was in my tear duct. I took a decongestant - but the fluids are still pooled. Advice?

I need to address the problem by telephone and so please contact me at 1-707-525-3784 in North America. Occasionally, one may feel swelling under the eye after nasal irrigation. This can happen if one were to push the squeeze bottle hard as the solution can go up in the eye through the nasolacrimal duct. This is usually a transient phenomenon but if it continues for more than a few hours to a day or two, you should contact your doctor or I will be happy to speak to you on the telephone.
