I have been using the neilmed packets for 2-3 months now and have developed a very dry - almost leathery like upper lip! Never had the problem before! Very dry! While the rinse has kept me from being sick all winter - this lip is very irritating!! Rinsing with plain water was painful!

I appreciate you comments as far as getting dryness on the lip. My request is that after the irrigation is completed, you definitely wash your face with plain water. The reason for this is that when salt gets on the skin or lip, which has a delicate lining, it can dry out. Consider applying lip balm. Also, another alternative is to apply the lip balm before doing the nasal irrigation. We have not encountered this problem in the past but I am answering this based on my medical knowledge. Please let us know how you feel after about a week. I am almost 100% sure that your symptoms will improve or go away completely.
