I have been using a Neil Med nasal rinse bottle twice a day for over 5 years now. I have had an occasional bloody mix or clot looking but the last few weeks since the weather turned cold - I have had blood mixed with mucous every time I rinse. This morning when I woke up I was totally congested in my nose - when I rinsed a lot of red blood came out. I decreased the pressure when I saw it but I didnt blow my nose at all - the rinse rinsed it out. could I have an infection?

It is difficult to determine the cause without an examination. Please follow up with your doctor.
