Dr. Mehta - When I blow my nose after irrigating sometimes I clear out thick debris. Sometimes the mucus is stringy. I have bad allergies and recently had a sinus infection. Is this just ridding my sinus of old stuff? Thank you.

Nasal irrigation will wash out excess mucus in your nasal cavity. It is possible some of that mucus has been there for awhile.
