1)I use my net pot periodically - every few days or so as needed and am wondering if I still need to replace it every 3 months? I am winding up with an excess of saline packets every time I change out the neti pot.2) Also - if the neti pot has been unused for a week or so - should I disinfect it before I use it as dust or bacteria may have settled on it in this time? And how would you do that?Thank you very much!

Medical studies have been published suggesting that nasal irrigation devices be replaced every three months to avoid contamination over time, despite not having used it every day. If your nasal wash device has not been used for a period of time, it is a good idea to clean and disinfect the device before using. Please see our link for proper protocol:https://www.neilmed.com/usa/disinfection-protocol/
