There is a connection between the eye and nose by a duct called nasolacrimal duct or tear duct. The flow is reversing. Possibilities are, you are applying too much pressure or the duct is too pliable that under little force it opens up and allows the fluid to come up. Choices are to try to use as little pressure as possible, change the direction or angle at which saline will go up, use NeilMed netipot, use NeilMed saline sprays. If the problem bothers you, please see an ENT or Eye doctor.Using NeilMed NetiPot, you will not have this issue as it is by gravity method and not pressure system. Please let me know the outcome.
